Tenders are invited for Evaluation and Improvement of Capacity Building Initiatives in Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park, Republic of Congo The community development team addresses conservation threats by improving the well-being of surrounding communities. Programs are designed to reduce pressure on wildlife by combining conservation education, promoting tourism, encouraging sustainable livelihoods and supporting basic services including schools and health centers . The research and biomonitoring team carries out long-term monitoring of the park's most important wildlife populations. There are three research sites in the park, including two sites dedicated to the study of great apes and a third site which is one of the oldest continuous studies of western lowland gorillas and forest elephants in the world. world. This team also works closely with the WCS Wildlife Health Program. The logistics team supports the programs by transporting people and goods within the park. This team is also responsible for the procurement of supplies and construction projects taking place in the park, including the new workers' camp near park headquarters and housing at research sites. The administrative and financial team oversees the human and financial resource management of the park's operations, which has more than 220 full-time employees and 300 daily workers. The park manager oversees the five departments and is responsible for the park's long-term strategy. Two recent reviews of PNNN staff training and capacity building revealed that the majority of staff had only basic or intermediate capacities and that one of the main weaknesses of the program is the lack of targeted capacity building. . As a result, employees have stagnated in developing new skills or seeking opportunities to advance in their career paths.
